The much-awaited music video of ‘Xur Tumi’ to release soon! After serving more than 15 years as an officer in the Indian Navy, Assam born and bred Tirthank Nath came back to his hometown Dhing in Nagaon district after taking voluntary retirement in January this year, and with a newfound determination, started his own business and pursued his deep-seated passion for songwriting, which has always been his true love. He took an active interest in music and literature from an early age.
Tirthank has an innate talent for writing beautiful songs. His initial success as a songwriter came last year with the song ‘Xuworoni’, composed by Pradyut Baruah in the voice of popular singer Zubeen Garg. The song which portrays unconditional love and commitment, emotionally appealed to the listeners.
It’s hardly surprising that songwriting attracted him, for he came from a strong literary background. An eminent poet-litterateur of Assam and science teacher of Dhing Khargeswar Bora Higher Secondary School, Tirthank’s father Dilip Kumar Nath has to his credit several acclaimed books like ‘Jugantor’, poetry collections ‘Seuj Subash’ and ‘Sukan Baalir Subash’, children’s stories ‘Ajala Kokar Sadhu’, etc. One of his popular novels ‘Kapili Paror Nilimajoni’ is now being dramatised by Pradyut Baruah for the mobile theatre stage.
Popular actor of cinema and mobile theatre Ravi Sarma, who has also dabbled in singing, was looking for a songwriter to collaborate with. An old acquaintance, Tirthank promptly sent a track, written and recorded in his own voice to Ravi, who was highly impressed. After that, Tirthank teamed up with Pradyut Baruah, who composed the track and then Bibhuti Gogoi contributed with the music score.
Finally, and within a short time, Ravi Sarma recorded the song ‘Xur Tumi’ to everyone’s delight and satisfaction. This romantic song about unrequited love, has been rendered with wonderful expression and insight by Ravi Sarma. The song will most definitely rejuvenate Ravi’s latent singing talent. The exceptional notations and wordings reflect Tirthank’s talent once again after ‘Xuworoni’. The song’s production designers are Surajit Deka and Binod Nath.
While the music video’s cinematography has been done by Rupam Roy Chowdhuri and Jayanta Deka, the editing has been carried out by Hrishikesh. The song was recorded at Zeero DB studio in Guwahati. The much anticipated music video of ‘Xur Tumi’ presented by Pranati Music will be released on the YouTube channel in the last week of October.
