A writ petition seeks the Gauhati High Court’s intervention when Bikas Borah and 10 others challenged the conduct of the Assam Public Service Commission Competitive (MAINS) Examination, 2020. The APSC scheduled to be held from 21st February to 27th February, 2022.
The petition challenges the decision of the Public Service Commission for the state of Assam to issue the impugned notification notifying the program for the combined Competitive (Main) Examination, 2020 and notified that the e-admission certificate will be issued on 14th of February 2022, one week prior to the examination.
The impugned program for main written examination violates rules under Section-II (C) (7) of Assam Public Services Combined Competitive Examination (Amendment) Rules, 2019. The rule provides that the e-admission certificate has to be issued three weeks before the commencement of the examination.
Further the plea added, that the Public Service Commission for the state of Assam has not issued the select list and reject list of candidates, have not disclosed the word limit and page limit for the General Studies paper & Essay Paper, have not disclosed the pattern of optional paper II.
