Recently a short video clip went viral in various social media platforms which claims that star footballer Cristiano Ronaldo visited Masjid to read the Quran.
In the video, a man was seen reciting the Quran.

Claim –
Facebook page Vision of Islam on July 9 shared a video clip claiming that footballer Cristiano Ronaldo is reciting Quran.
The video clip description read :
“Ronaldo visit Masjid to reading Quran Maashaa-Allah”
Another Facebook page Cristiano Ronaldo fan club shared the video of the footballer reciting Quran.
Youtube channel Daily Muhammad also uploaded a video of Ronaldo reading Quran.

Investigation –
Headline8 did a fact check on the viral video and here is what was revealed:
A google reverse image check was done on the video clip of Cristiano Ronaldo. However, during the search no relevant article came up.
Looking closely at the video clip, Headline8 found out that the video was uploaded in video sharing application TikTok and the original uploader was Bewar Abdullah.
Since TikTok application is banned in India, Headline8 did a check on the internet with keyword Bewar Abdullah and found his Instagram, Facebook profile.
The man is a doppelganger of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Bewar is a resident of Birmingham, United Kingdom. Since he is a lookalike of Cristiano Ronaldo, Abdullah is a popular figure in Birmingham and also in social media.
Abdullah also has another Facebook page – Bewar Brittany.
At the last stage of the investigation, Headline8 also checked the profiles of the above-mentioned Facebook and Youtube pages.
Facebook page Cristiano Ronaldo fan club is a public group and has more than 5,32,000 members.
Facebook page Vision of Islam has almost 2,000 followers.
Youtube page Daily Mohammad has over 3,33,000 subscribers.
Conclusion –
After an intense investigation, Headline8 came to the conclusion that the viral video clip of Cristiano Ronaldo is fake.
The person in the clip is not Ronaldo but his doppelganger Bewar Abdullah.
